Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi
The Iranian President has stated that the Zionist government has no allies in the area and that its activities should be watched with caution in order to limit its influence in the region.
Ebrahim Raisi made the remark during a phone contact with his Armenian counterpart, Vahagn Khachaturyan, on Wednesday night.
According to Raisi, the Zionist dictatorship has no sympathizers in the area and its tyrannies against the Palestinian people are unique in history.
He also stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly believes that regional concerns should be handled by collaboration among regional countries, based on mutual respect and a shared interest.
Respect for countries' territorial integrity and sovereignty is also one of the Islamic Republic's fundamental objectives, according to the President.
Raisi stated that Iran favors bilateral and multilateral collaboration in the energy and transportation sectors, adding that such cooperation promotes security and stability while also bringing economic prosperity to the area.
The Iranian President also backed peace talks between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which have been at odds for decades over the Nagorno-Karabakh territory.
Raisi expressed optimism that the two nations will resolve their differences amicably, respecting each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity while considering the rights and security of the Caucasus people.
On his part, the Armenian President expressed gratitude to Iran for its policies and stated that the Islamic Republic plays an important role in the region.
Khachaturyan also stated that Armenia is eager to expand its economic, political, and cultural ties with Iran.
He noted that conducting frequent meetings of the two nations' joint economic committees surely helps them speed up bilateral cooperation.
The Armenian President also updated his Iranian counterpart on the Yerevan-Baku discussions and expressed optimism that the next 3+3 group meeting, scheduled for Tehran, will take place as soon as feasible.
The 3+3 group consists of three southern Caucasus nations, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Georgia, as well as three bordering countries, Russia, Turkey, and Iran.
