Raisi: US, EU in a Decision-Making Crisis
Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi says that Iran’s economy won’t be tied to negotiations over the revival of the nuclear deal.
“The United States and the Europeans are in a crisis of decision-making."
That is what the Iranian president Ibrahim Raisi proclaimed during the 35th edition of the International Islamic unity conference that came to an end on Saturday.
Raisi stressed that he will not tie Iran’s economy to negotiations over the revival of the nuclear deal.
The Iranian president explained that his administration’s foreign policy focuses on expanding relations with the world, particularly neighboring countries.
Additionally, Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has recently revealed that talks on reviving Iran's nuclear deal with the 4+1 Group "will resume soon", and a senior US official recently stated that the US soon hopes to resume nuclear talks with Iran.
"We're hopeful we can be back in Vienna (for talks)... in a fairly short period," the senior administration official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told reporters.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry had announced that Iran will soon be rejoining the talks before November, after their suspension last June.
Six rounds of talks were held between Iran and international powers, including France, in Vienna during the period between April and June, in an attempt to revive the nuclear agreement.
