Relations with Serbia growing stronger and expanding: Amir-Abdollahian
Iranian Foreign Minister says that relations between Tehran and Belgrade are in an upward momentum and will expand in all areas.
In a joint press with his Serbian counterpart Ivica Dačić on Sunday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said that the relations between the two countries are continuously elevating and expanding in many areas of common interests.
Amir-Abdollahian is on an official visit to Belgrade following an invitation by the latter to discuss bilateral relations and regional issues, where he also congratulated his counterpart on the 85th anniversary of establishing ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Serbia.

“We discussed bilateral, regional, and international cooperation with the Foreign Minister of Serbia, and we believe that Serbia is an eastern country in the west and a western country in the east, and we are ready to hold the 16th round of Joint Economic Commission between the two countries in the near future.”
Iran's foreign minister delivered an official invitation from Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi for the Serbian President to visit Tehran and hold talks to strengthen relations and cooperation in several fields.

Iran's top diplomat also commented on his phone conversations with EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell.
“I talked with EU Foreign Policy Chief Mr. Borrell on the removal of anti-Iran sanctions and emphasized that an agreement is important for Iran which is durable and can secure the interest of the Iranian nation,” he said, adding, “I take this opportunity to thank EU Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell and Deputy EU Foreign Policy Chief Enrique Mora and a number of foreign ministers of European countries who make their utmost effort in achieving a final agreement on JCPOA."
Amir-Abdollahian addressed the recent riots in his country and the Western role in inciting unrest.
"The United States and several Western countries sought to create chaos in Iran, and one of the goals of the United States was to push Iran to make great concessions at the negotiating table."

The foreign minister also highlighted the recent visit made by his deputy Ali Bagheri Kani to the country to discuss gas and oil cooperation between the two nations, and stated that, "In the field of economic and energy cooperation, we are ready to sign documents between the two countries."
"In the field of energy, a contract has also been signed with a European country," said Amir-Abodllahian.
The minister also regarded Belgrade's positive role regarding the Kosovo issue.
"We support Serbia's supportive efforts in the Kosovo issue."
