Resistance source to Al Mayadeen: Blockade hinders ceasefire talks
A source in the Palestinian Resistance underscores that the war on the Gaza Strip and the Resistance's confrontations with the Israeli occupation forces will continue as long as the Gaza Strip remains besieged and the starvation policy remains implemented.
A field commander in the Resistance in Gaza confirmed to Al Mayadeen that "the continued suffocating blockade on our people in the Gaza Strip will lead to the explosion of negotiations regarding a ceasefire."
The source continued, stating that "the policy of starvation practiced by the occupation against civilians will not achieve any significant accomplishment, and the battle will continue until the blockade is lifted and aid is allowed into Gaza."
The commander pointed out that "the dropping of aid from US aircraft is a drop in the ocean [of Gaza's needs] and does not contribute to alleviating the severe humanitarian crisis in the Strip."
Moreover, the source called on Arab and Islamic countries "to take the initiative and break the blockade on Gaza, rather than settling for calls and appeals."
This comes at a time when the number of children dying due to starvation in hospitals across the Gaza Strip is rising.
In that regard, medical sources announced today, March 4, that the number of deaths due to starvation has risen to 16 after the death of a child at the Abu Yousef Al-Najjar Hospital in Rafah.
The Israeli occupation continues to prevent and hinder the arrival of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, especially to the northern areas, while the aid reaching the southern part of the Strip remains insufficient to meet the needs of the citizens.
Occupation forces have not only prevented humanitarian aid from entering the Gaza Strip but have also targeted civilians while they wait for the arrival of this aid in scarce quantities, doing so four times during the past 72 hours, killing and injuring hundreds of Palestinians.
