Russia evacuates nearly 30,000 civilians from Ukraine combat zones
Almost 1.94 million civilians have been evacuated to western Russia since the start of the war.
Mikhail Mizintsev, a senior Russian military official, said on Saturday that almost 30,000 civilians were evacuated from the war zones in eastern and southern Ukraine in the past 24 hours.
"Despite all the trouble we have had from official Kiev, we evacuated 29,733 people, including 3,502 children, from dangerous areas in Ukraine and Donbas republics in the past 24 hours without Ukrainian assistance," Mizintsev told a news briefing.
Since the start of the war in Ukraine in February, a total of 1.94 million civilians have escaped the war in Ukraine, seeking shelter in Russia, more than 307,000 of whom are minors.
Moreover, since early March, Russia has supplied Ukrainians affected by the war with more than 33,143 tons of humanitarian aid, including food, medicines, and essentials.
468 tons of aid were delivered to the DPR and LPR on Saturday.
