Russia Launches a Zircon Missile from Nuclear Submarine for the First Time
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the Russian Navy tested the Zircon hypersonic missile for the first time from the nuclear submarine, Severodvinsk.
On Monday, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the Russian Navy conducted a successful test launch for the first time of the Zircon, or Tsirkon, hypersonic missile from a nuclear submarine.
The ministry's statement declared that "The Russian Navy carried out the first tests of the Zircon hypersonic missile from the nuclear submarine, Severodvinsk. The missile was test-fired at a conditional sea target in the Barents Sea."

Russian-Algerian military exercises
Earlier today, Moscow announced the start of Russian-Algerian "tactical" military exercises in North Ossetia with the aim of strengthening and developing military cooperation between the two countries.
The first joint Russian-Algerian maneuvers were inaugurated in the Tarskoye training field of the southern Military District in North Ossetia.
The joint Russian-Algerian tactical exercises will be organized from the 3rd to the 11th of October. About 80 soldiers from the southern military region of the infantry unit deployed to the North Caucasus, in addition to the participation of 80 soldiers from the Algerian armed forces.
