Russia multiplies military production as war in Ukraine intensifies
Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu announces that the production of conventional and high-precision weapons in Russia has multiplied.
Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu announced on Saturday that Russia has multiplied the production of conventional and high-precision weapons to be sent to Russian troops participating in the war in Ukraine.
During a meeting held earlier in the day, Shoigu said, "Thanks to the expanded production capacities and increased labor productivity, the number of products to support the troops has increased multiple times. These are both conventional and high-precision types of weapons," adding "All of the above allows to deliver the objectives set by Supreme Commander-in-Chief [President Vladimir Putin] in accordance with the plan for conducting the special military operation."
Moreover, the Defense Minister stated that "the supply volumes of the most demanded ammunition has been determined, and the necessary measures are being taken to increase them."
A day earlier, on Friday, Russia adopted a new foreign policy doctrine that prioritizes reforming world politics away from the hegemony of the United States and its Western allies and supporting countries that choose to fight neocolonialists and foreign interference.
The new foreign strategy went into effect after being signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"The Russian Federation intends to give priority to the elimination of vestiges of the dominance of the United States and other unfriendly countries in world politics," the document said.
Russia would aim to "create the conditions for any state to reject neo-colonialist and hegemonic aims," the 42-page policy read.
"Radical changes" in the world prompted the new policies, Putin said during a security council meeting, stressing that Russia's engagement in the international arena must reflect its view on these changes.
