Russia spy chief: US shaping 'colonial administration' in Ukraine
Zelensky is following the US directives of assigning US-backed officials in return for Washington masking his corrupt officials, according to Russia's spy chief.
The head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service(SVR), Sergey Naryshkin, revealed yesterday that Washington has begun creating “a colonial administration” in Ukraine of local politicians who have sworn allegiance to the US.
He elaborated that the US government has demanded that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “remove” dozens of high-ranking officials, whom Washington no longer trusts, from their posts under various pretexts, and replace them with "Ukrainians trained in the West, who have sworn allegiance to American interests."
“As part of the policy of total vassalization of Ukraine, the US has started forming what is essentially a colonial administration in that country,” Naryshkin stated, adding that those instructions from Washington were given to him when he visited in December.
“The Americans are pushing for Ukrainian ambassador to Washington Oksana Markarova, who received her education at Indiana University Bloomington, to take the post of prime minister. The deputy head of the Finance Ministry, Alexander Kava, who studied at Harvard University, is being suggested for the job of finance minister. The current deputy head of the Economy Ministry, Taras Kachka, a graduate of Poland’s National School of Public Administration (KSAP), is recommended for the post of economy minister,” he said.
Ukraine’s Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, who replaced Zelensky’s ally Aleksey Reznikov in the job last fall, used to participate in the Future Leaders Exchange program, funded by the US State Department, confirming a new pattern in adhering to Washington's orders.
Naryshkin added that the Biden administration, which has a “killer corruption dossier” on members of Zelenksy’s inner circle, is threatening to reveal this information if Zelensky refuses to follow his request of assigning US-backed personnel.
“Zelensky realizes that the damaging data that the Americans have is capable of destroying him as president. In this situation, he’ll continue to dance to the tune of his American masters,” Naryshkin expected.
US aid to Ukraine was recently suspended
While Congress still contemplates support for Ukraine, White House National Security Spokesperson John Kirby announced on January 12 that all military aid to Ukraine has been suspended.
“We have issued the last drawdown package that we had funding to support, and that’s why it’s critical that Congress move on that national security supplemental request,” Kirby said, noting that US military support for Ukraine has "ground to a halt."
This comes right after White House and Senate negotiators revealed that they were on the verge of finalizing a comprehensive deal for a supplemental bill aimed at funding aid to Ukraine and US national security measures, including enhanced border security.
"We are very close, we're dealing with the last one or two items, but we're working productively with a shared focus on getting to an agreement," Senator Kyrsten Sinema stated in an exclusive interview for local news broadcaster KGUN 9.
Sinema revealed that she anticipates a draft text of the bill to be available for other lawmakers to review shortly. This development comes amid mounting concerns over the urgency of providing aid to Ukraine and "Israel", two key US allies.
