Russian FPV drones now reach 130km range: Manufacturer
Under optimal conditions, drones equipped with Germes communication systems can achieve a flight range of up to 130 kilometers.
Sputnik reported on Friday that Russian arms company Germes has developed the first cost-effective anti-jamming communication systems for first-person view (FPV) drones.
According to Alyona Balandina, Development Director of NPO Kaysant, Germes' parent company, this new development has extended the flight range of these drones to 100-130 kilometers (62-80 miles).
"NPO Kaysant has created a separate division - the Germes design bureau, which specializes in developments unique for the Russian market - noise proof and anti-jamming communication systems for FPV drones, making it possible to increase their flight range to 100 kilometers," Balandina said.
Under optimal conditions, drones equipped with Germes communication systems can achieve a flight range of up to 130 kilometers, Balandina noted.
Russian paratroopers have carried out more than 40 strikes at enemy targets in the Donetsk region, eliminating a huge number of Ukrainian militants and hardware.

Affordable to produce, FPV drones pose a significant threat to military vehicles and entire squads of soldiers. With just a few hundred dollars, a tank worth millions could be rendered permanently ineffective.
