Russian radars can detect whatever is or flying in space.
The Russian missile attack early warning system monitored the launch of 28 war missiles from foreign territories in the first half of 2021.
Sergei Boev, the chief designer of the early warning system, stated that the ground-based monitoring devices of the system monitored the launch of 28 ballistic missiles and 32 missiles carrying satellites from foreign lands, and the launch of 8 missiles carrying satellites and two ballistic missiles from Russian territory in the first half of the year 2021.
Russia has built up an early warning system to detect enemy missiles as they are launched and notify its air defense units of a missile strike.
The creator of the Russian radar devices spoke to Sputnik about the abilities of the Russian warning radars in early warning operations of a missile attack.
Yury Anushko, the Director-General of the Russian company RTE Systems, said that the radars of the Russian network that detect incoming missiles can detect everything above the horizon. He stressed that the radar stations can detect any target, whether it is a plane or a very fast missile.
Russian radars can also detect what is flying above or is flying in space at an altitude of more than 30,000 km, according to the director of the Russian company that builds radar devices.
It is worth noting that the network collects the necessary information to provide notification of the missile attack to the higher command centers.
The Voronezh radar stations, as well as many other support systems, are part of the Russian radar network.
