Saied Promises Government Formation and Judicial Accountability for Corruption
Tunisian President Kais Saied confirms the formation of the government and the establishment of a system that has judicial accountability.
Tunisian President Kais Saied revealed the formation of a government and the establishment of a system that "expresses the will of the people," emphasizing that "there is no return."
During a visit to Tunis-Carthage airport yesterday, Monday, Saied disclosed that "everyone who believes there is a reversal of recent decisions is delusional."
He stressed that there is no intention to infringe on the freedom of movement, stressing that the "Exceptional measures necessitated taking some measures that restrict the movement of only some wanted persons."
Saied also disclosed that suspicious individuals or those suspected of corruption will not be permitted to leave the nation until their case is resolved in a judiciary process that applies to all equally.
He emphasized that some people had committed "economic crimes against Tunisians, seized the people's money, and smuggled it abroad under the protection and instigation of political parties claiming to fight corruption," and that these people should be transferred to the courts to have their money sources verified.
Saied on Monday stressed the importance of being wary of foreign individuals carrying false documentation. He detailed that some foreign individuals do not disclose the countries they were in, "claiming they were studying and presenting fake diplomas."
Yesterday, the "Ennahda" movement requested that the President of the Republic revoke the suspension of the Tunisian Parliament and resume work on the constitution, as well as appoint a prime minister with national authority.
