Sanaa says any US escalation against Yemen declaration of war
The chair of the Yemeni Supreme Political Council underlines that any jeopardization of Yemen's interests would be tantamount to a declaration of war.
Any escalations carried out by the US against the interests of the Yemeni people would be a declaration of war, Yemeni Supreme Political Council chief Mahdi al-Mashat said Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion of the 56th anniversary of the departure of the last British soldier from Aden on November 30, he stressed that such action "would be a declaration of war, and it would be dealt with on this basis," al-Mashat said.
Moreover, he called on the US to "make fundamental changes in its hostile behavior toward Yemen, for it does not serve peace in the region."
Yemen, al-Mashat underlined, "is open to any options to deal with any signs of aggression."
He further called for the occupiers to take steps to withdraw from Yemen's land and territorial waters at the soonest time possible.
The Supreme Political Council chief stressed the importance of an action plan for dealing with the prisoners file and lifting the restrictions on Yemen's ports.
Finally, al-Mashat hailed the Palestinian Resistance for its heroic actions against the Israeli occupation while also praising all the peoples of the world who stood by Gaza.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Defense and Security Affairs in the Sanaa Government in Yemen, Jalal al-Rowaishan, told Al Mayadeen last week that the Yemeni position on the war on Gaza has been popularly and officially declared, adding that Yemen will no longer seek diplomatic means in relation to the Israeli occupation's aggression on the Gaza Strip.
This comae after the Yemeni Armed Forces vowed to continue their operations against "Israel" until it ceases its aggression on Gaza and its crimes against the Palestinian people.
"We reaffirm that our operations target ships flying the Israeli flag, operated by Israeli companies, or owned by Israeli individuals," the statement read.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have launched consistent attacks on Israeli military sites in occupied Palestine, utilizing ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and attack drones.
Yemen has also witnessed weekly mass protests in support of Palestine through the 49 days of aggression that the Gaza Strip faced. This highlights the commitment of both the Sanaa authorities and the Yemeni people to support Palestine and its people.
