Saudi Newspaper "Okaz" Insults a Number of Lebanese Officials
The Saudi newspaper wrote that “the Lebanese-Gulf crisis revealed” what it described as “the masked hatred of Lebanese politicians".
The Saudi Okaz newspaper published on Saturday a series of insults directed at a number of Lebanese officials, including the Minister of Information George Kordahi and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdallah Bou Habib.
The Saudi publication wrote that “the Lebanese-Gulf crisis revealed” what it described as “the masked hatred of Lebanese politicians such as the Minister of Foreign Affairs.”
In an article titled “Lebanon and the failure of the state…Between the ignorance of Kordahi, the naïveté of Bou Habib and the guardianship of Hezbollah”, the Saudi newspaper directed derogatory insults at the Lebanese politicians, saying that “they do not belong to Lebanon nor to its Arab environment.”
Furthermore, Okaz wrote that “their foolish behavior” led to the so-called Lebanese isolation, stressing that “the Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs created a crisis worse than the one that preceded it, as if he wants to burn Lebanon with everything and everyone in it.”

It is noteworthy that Saudi Arabia summoned its ambassador from Lebanon for consultations last week, while it asked the ambassador of Lebanon to leave the Kingdom within 48 hours and decided to halt all Lebanese imports to the kingdom.
Following in the footsteps of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Kuwait asked the Lebanese ambassador to leave their lands within 48 hours. In turn, the UAE decided to withdraw its diplomats from Lebanon and prevent its citizens from traveling to it.
This comes after the resurfacing of statements made by the Lebanese Minister of Information, George Kordahi, on a TV show before assuming his ministerial duties, in which he described the Yemen war as "futile", adding that the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement "has been defending itself in the face of external aggression against Yemen for years," which sparked a series of local and Arab responses.
Close sources to the Lebanese Minister of Information, George Kordahi, assured Al Mayadeen on Thursday that Kordahi will not resign, and his stance has not changed.
