Iranian leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei has called on the new government to leverage the nation’s existing resources to drive Iran’s progress during a meeting with President Masoud Pezeshkian and his cabinet to kick off Government Week.
This marked the first official meeting between the 14th Iranian government and the Iranian leader.
"We thank God that the government was formed with the efforts of the honorable president and with the valuable help of the parliament," Sayyed Khamenei said. "This is a great blessing."
Praising Pezeshkian's diligent efforts in appointing ministers, the Iranian leader noted that the new president had consulted with him on the matter.
Addressing the cabinet, he said, "All of you are high-ranking officials of this country. It is the duty of all of us to support you, help you if you need help, and try to make you successful in your work."
"Today, you are in a position where you can be effective in the progress of the country and in the administration of the country's affairs... It is a great blessing for a person to be able to serve the people," he added.
Iranian leader highlights strategic assets
Sayyed Khamenei highlighted the country’s unique geographical position, noting its location at the crossroads of east and west, as well as north and south, emphasizing its strategic importance.
He also mentioned the significant advantages offered by the country’s diverse climate, extensive coastlines, islands, and beaches, describing these as valuable opportunities.
Additionally, the Iranian leader underscored the importance of the people’s faith—both religious and political—considering it a crucial asset.
Furthermore, he acknowledged the Islamic Republic's advancements in military and scientific fields as significant national assets.
In his remarks, Sayyed Khamenei addressed the topic of artificial intelligence, asserting that utilizing this technology should be seen as a necessity rather than a privilege. He pointed out that various state departments must gain a thorough understanding of its complexities.
He further stressed the importance of establishing a "rule of law" in cyberspace, which he described as currently "uncontrolled." The Iranian leader said that a law-centered approach to cyberspace would transform it into a valuable opportunity.
