Iranian leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei said that the US is still committing miscalculations, with General Soleimani’s martyrdom being an example of this.

Soleimani’s martyrdom, he said in a speech on the anniversary of the popular uprising in the city of Qom against the US-backed Pahlavi regime in 1978, was a historic event that no one assumed would attain “such magnificence”, stressing that “we have not and will not give in to the enemy’s coercion and language of force.”

In the enemy’s thinking, the martyrdom of General #Soleimani was supposed to be a threat to us. However, the Muslim Iranian nation turned this threat into an opportunity. Not only was the Resistance Movement not extinguished, it has also increased as you can see.

He also clarified that Iran’s progress is tied to true revolutionaries taking the mantle, which is what Iran has witnessed in its 43 years of revolution.

Khamenei also stressed the importance of maintaining unity and limiting divisive factors in the country. He noted that differences of opinion, taste, and methods are natural, including religious differences between Shia and Sunnis, but these differences must not be allowed to lead to confrontation, escalate differences, and weaken social cohesion.

The Iranian leader pointed out the centuries-long peaceful coexistence between Shias and Sunnis in the country, saying that despite historical ethnic clashes in Iran, there has never been a Shia-Sunni clash. He also added that the “divide and conquer” policy has been the staple of the enemies throughout their colonial history in the region and that “we must not be fooled” by this devilish policy.

Furthermore, he said that work must be done to strengthen the hope that the enemies are attempting to extinguish and turn into despair in the hearts of the youth, which is why all promises made to the people must be kept in full.

The US system of calculation is defective. It cannot fathom the truths about Iran. When their calculation of the existing situation is wrong, their decisions are wrong too. This is why they have been unsuccessful so far and they will continue to be unsuccessful, God willing.

As for the anniversary of the uprising of the people of Qom, Khamenei said that this uprising was the core of a series of popular movements that led to the victory of the Islamic Revolution, considering that this event was at the heart of a great change and must be immortalized.

He emphasized that despite there being economic difficulties, price hikes, and difficult living conditions in the country, the Islamic Republic’s successes must be shown before all and not be kept secret.

Khamenei stressed that commitment to the principles of the Revolution is one the most important pathways of development in the country, saying that the scientific, industrial, and political progress and success in the country over the past 43 years of the victory of the Revolution have been tied to the work done by revolutionary, knowledgeable, and god-fearing individuals, who possessed great morale and a devoted spirit.
