Shamkhani: Aggrandizing Zionist Entity Prestige Does not Reflect Islam or Power
In response to the Turkish President's statement, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani, said that repressive governments fear the different spectrums of society.
In response to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani, said that fearing the various spectrums of the society is the fate of the governments that deal repressively with their people, unlike Iran, which is a country that embraces all spectrums.
Shamkhani wondered "does aggrandizing the so-called prestige of the Zionist entity, by a ruler who claims to lead the Islamic world, reflect his power or his Islamism?"
This comes in response to the Turkish President's statement saying that Iran will not involve itself in a war with Azerbaijan, due to the strong relationship the latter has with "Israel", and because of the existence of the Azeri component within the country.
Erdogan added that the possible confrontation between Iran and Azerbaijan "is not an easy mission."
He reiterated his recent support of Azerbaijan, divulging that he will visit to meet with President Ilham Aliyev and attend the opening ceremony of the airport and the cross border.
It is worth mentioning that tension has risen between Tehran and Baku following Iran's military manoeuvers in the country's northwest, on the border with Azerbaijan.
