Sinwar brought upon 'Israel' greatest disaster: Israeli media
Israeli commentators say Hamas' Yahya Sinwar exposed "Israel’s" biggest security failure, showing Palestinian Resistance fighters are skilled, intelligent, and underestimated.

Hamas' Political Bureau chief, martyr Yahya Sinwar, "brought upon Israel the greatest disaster since its establishment," Israeli newspaper columnist Yoav Limor wrote on Friday in the Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom.
Limor stated that Sinwar "taught Israel two profoundly important lessons." The first, he said, is "never to judge the enemy by its words, but by its capabilities, and never to underestimate it."
The second lesson, Limor added, is that "the fighters in Gaza, wearing sandals, turned out to be trained, dangerous, and — more importantly — intelligent."
His remarks follow recent statements by Israel Ziv, a retired Israeli military major general, who said Hamas is "operating with greater intelligence than Israel."
Hamas waging guerrilla warfare, Israel remains stuck in maneuvering doctrine
Ziv, who previously served as head of operations in the Israeli military, noted that Hamas is waging guerrilla warfare, while "Israel remains stuck in its maneuvering doctrine, which works against it."
This comes as the Palestinian Resistance continues to confront the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip and has affirmed its readiness to respond to any further escalation by the occupation.
Meanwhile, Knesset member Gadi Eisenkot stated that "the foundational principles of Israel’s national security doctrine collapsed on October 7, in the greatest failure since Israel’s establishment."
On October 18, 2024, Hamas announced the martyrdom of its Political Bureau chief and commander of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, Yahya Sinwar.
The group said that Sinwar, who became the leader of the movement's Political Bureau in August following the assassination of former leader Ismail Haniyeh, was martyred during confrontations with the Israeli occupation forces.
Sinwar, contrary to the Israeli claims that he was hiding in tunnels and using captives as human shields, was in a house with several other fighters, himself donning military attire, including a vest, grenades, ammunition, and an assault rifle.
Donning military attire, Sinwar went down fighting
He was confronting Israeli forces in Rafah's Tal al-Sultan refugee camp, firing at them, engaging them, and tossing grenades at them to halt their advance. As he succeeded, the Israeli occupation forces backed away and fired a tank shell at the house he was sheltering himself in as part of the ongoing confrontation.
They then sent a drone to inspect the area, and he could be seen severely wounded, covered in dust, and donning the Palestinian koufiyyeh to conceal his identity.
With nothing but a stick in hand, sitting on a sofa, he attempted to throw it at the Israeli drone, which then backed away before the house he was in was bombarded once again, leading to his martyrdom. He died as a warrior, holding on until the very last breath.
