Smotrich's statements are dangerous, threaten Jordan too: Haniyeh
The head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, stated that Smotrich's statements, in which he targeted the Palestinian people and attacked Jordan's sovereignty, are dangerous.
Head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, said in a press statement issued by his office that the statements made on Monday by occupation Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich, regarding the existence of Palestinian people, are considered very dangerous.
Haniyeh pointed out that Smotrich's statements express the desire for ethnic cleansing and forced displacement of the Palestinian people, warning of another 1948 massacre.
He affirmed that what Smotrich said against Jordan reveals the political doctrine of the Israeli entity, and proves that the threat to Jordan is the same as the threat to Palestine, which necessitates conducting a strategic dialogue with Jordan to confront these dangerous trends.
The head of the Hamas movement's political bureau addressed the international community to shoulder its responsibilities toward a terrorist policy that contradicts all international and humanitarian laws and norms.
Hamas also condemned the extremist Israeli minister's use of a map of the Israeli entity that includes both Palestine and Jordan stressing that this reveals the occupation's fascism and racist mentality, along with its flagrant violation of international law and the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination.

In a press statement, Hamas called on the international community, especially France, from where Smotrich stated his racist remarks, to take firm action against the occupation.
Hamas appealed to Arab nations that normalized ties with the occupation to sever relations in support of the Palestinian people's right to freedom and self-determination and to also preserve the history and common issues that bind the Arab people to the Palestinian people.
During his participation in an event held yesterday in Paris, Smotrich used a map of the so-called "Greater Israel", which includes the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the occupied Palestine territories.
The Jordanian Foreign Ministry on Monday condemned Smotrich's statements after he claimed that "there is no such thing as Palestinian people."
He claimed that "there is no such thing as Palestinians because there is no such thing as a Palestinian people." "Who are the [real] Palestinians? I am Palestinian," he said, adding, "the Palestinian people are an invention of less than 100 years ago."
