Spanish minister Ione Belarra calls on EU to cut ties with 'Israel'
Belarra condemns the EU's “inaction” which is turning them into "accomplices in a planned genocide."
Spain’s Minister of Social Rights, Ione Belarra, released a video on social platform X to urge European leaders to cut ties with "Israel," after calling out world leaders for allowing the occupation to commit "crimes against humanity" with impunity.
"The Gaza Strip has experienced a hellish night. Israel is not only massively bombing an absolutely defenseless population which includes children, pregnant women, and older people, but also Israel has ended all communication. Internet, phone is cut in the Gaza Strip," she said.
Tras esta noche infernal en Gaza tengo un mensaje muy simple pero muy importante para los líderes europeos. No nos hagan cómplices del genocidio. Actúen. No en nuestro nombre. pic.twitter.com/0Z7mSVn4BP

She condemned the EU's inaction" which is turning them into "accomplices in a planned genocide," because since "Israel’s" international alliances "guarantee its impunity", the atrocities are intensifying.
"Cut diplomatic ties with Israel, carry out exemplary economic sanctions against those responsible for this genocide, and without a doubt let’s take [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu before the International Criminal Court so that he can be tried for what he is: a war criminal," she added.
"We have to act now, tomorrow will be late, we have to do it today."
Citizens of Europe were also urged by Belarra to participate in pro-Palestine protests to "end the genocide."
This comes as Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares said on Tuesday that the Spanish government has raised humanitarian aid to Palestine to 21 million euros ($22.4 million) and expects to triple this amount in the near future.
Denying the truth
10 days after Operation Al-Aqsa Flood launched and atrocities against Gazans rose, Belarra condemned "Israel" for plotting a "planned genocide", as she described the siege on the Strip as an act of "collective punishment" potentially constituting a "war crime".
She continued to urge the people of Spain to take to the streets and demand to refrain from joining the US unwavering support for "Israel", urging the Global South to come up with a solution.
"Israel's" embassy in Spain responded by claiming that Spanish officials had aligned themselves with "terrorism (of) ISIS-type."
Spain's Foreign Ministry said that the Israeli remarks were based on "falsehoods", reiterating its support for any "political leader" expressing their stances "as representative of a political party in a democracy such as Spain's."
#Spain’s acting Minister for Social Rights Ione Belarra has accused "Israel" of conducting a "planned genocide" in #Gaza, following the deaths of thousands of Palestinians, including hundreds of children, in "Israel's" aggression on the Strip.

Responding to the occupation embassy's comments, Belarra said that remaining silent on the Netanyahu government's crimes, which include "massive bombings, water, and electricity cuts," means complicity with terror.
Furthermore, Albarez recommended organizing an international peace conference following what he described as a "Palestinian-Israeli conflict" based on the "two-state plan". The Spanish minister stated that such a summit may be held in Spain.
