Dozens killed, injured in Israeli, terrorist attacks on Syria's Aleppo
An Israeli aggression targets multiple locations in Aleppo's countryside, northern Syria, resulting in casualties.
The Syrian Ministry of Defense reported that multiple attacks targeted several areas in Aleppo’s countryside, which led to the martyrdom and injury of several civilians and soldiers, in addition to material damage and losses in public and private property.
The Ministry revealed that an Israeli attack coincided with a drone attack carried out by terrorist organizations from Idlib and the western countryside of Aleppo.
38 people, including five members of Hezbollah, were martyred in the attacks, Reuters reported, citing two security sources.
The attacks took place at about 1:45 am on Friday while the Israeli airstrike originated from Athriya, southeast of Aleppo Governorate.
Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that the Syrian army's air defenses intercepted an Israeli aggression in Aleppo's airspace.
It is noteworthy that on Thursday two civilians sustained injuries in a residential building in the countryside of Damascus due to an Israeli attack.
"Around 5:50 pm on Thursday, the Israeli enemy launched an aerial aggression from the direction of occupied Syrian Golan, targeting a residential building in Damascus countryside," a military source told SANA.
In a related context, Russia's ambassador to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzya, said on March 21 that Israeli strikes on Syria could lead to a wider regional conflict and that Moscow condemns the attacks.
Nebenzya told a meeting of the UN Security Council that Russia is concerned about the increasing number of Israeli airstrikes against Syrian civilian sites, including from the Blue Line area, which he slammed as "irresponsible".
He added that the attacks were a flagrant violation of Syrian sovereignty and the basic norms of international law and warned of their serious consequences for the timely humanitarian response of UN agencies.
