Syria: Power Blackout Caused by Attack
Most Syrian provinces are experiencing an electricity blackout, which according to the Syrian Electricity Minister, is caused by an attack on a gas pipeline at Deir Ali Plant.
Official Syrian sources on Friday reported power outages in many provinces. Syria's SANA news agency also quoted the Syrian Electricity Minister Ghassan al-Zamil as saying that the blackout is caused by an attack on one of the Deir Ali power plant's gas pipelines, which led to the shut down of its operations. Technical teams are working to fix the malfunction, and electricity will be restored as soon as the issue is addressed.
