Syrian army, allies vow harsh response to new Israeli conspiracy: IRGC
Brigadier General Mohammad Ali Naeini, spokesperson for the IRGC, says the Resistance Axis will remain steadfast and continue to stand strong against its enemies.
Brigadier General Mohammad Ali Naeini, the spokesperson for Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), confirmed Monday that "the Syrian army and the Resistance Front will respond forcefully to the new Zionist plot against Syria."
In his statement, Naeini emphasized that "the Resistance Axis will not retreat from its stance and will continue to stand firm against its enemies."
He added that "the goal of the terrorists in Syria is to open a new front and weaken one of the key pillars of the resistance axis."
Naeini stressed that the Israeli entity has failed to achieve any of its objectives, including eliminating Hezbollah, weakening it politically, or disarming the group.
Araghchi: Most problems in region caused by foreign intervention
Earlier today, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accused "Israel" of playing a role in the resurgence of terrorist groups and their recent offensives in northwest Syria during a press conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, following their bilateral meeting in Turkiye.
Araghchi emphasized the need for Iran and Turkiye to cooperate in halting Israeli attacks on Gaza and protecting civilians. "Most of the problems in the region are caused by foreign intervention and occupation and a lack of concern for the rights of Palestinians," he stated.
The Iranian foreign minister also pointed to renewed activity by Takfiri organizations in northern Syria, which he said are undermining security and stability and threatening Syrian communities, announcing Iran's "full support to the Syrian government and nation."
On Sunday, he met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, who reiterated his country’s unwavering determination to combat terrorist organizations with full force across all Syrian territories.
Araghchi reaffirmed Tehran’s readiness to provide comprehensive support to the Syrian government, military, and people in their fight against terrorism.
He emphasized Iran’s steadfast commitment to supporting Syria against Israeli aggression and terrorist groups, describing this strategic approach as essential to ensuring Syria's stability and regional security.
"The recent actions of terrorist groups are part of a conspiracy by enemies to destabilize the region," Araghchi said, linking these activities to the United States and the Israeli occupation. He argued that such moves are attempts to compensate for the failures of Israel in confronting the Resistance Front.
Expressing confidence in Syria’s resilience, Araghchi stated, "Just as Syria triumphed over terrorism in the past, it will succeed again in defeating terrorist groups and their backers."
