Syrian army dominating all country's borders ‘necessary’: Raisi
Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad meets with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in Tehran, and the two officials discuss Syria's national sovereignty.
In a meeting with visiting Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad in Tehran on Wednesday evening, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi stressed the need to address the concerns of some countries and said that it is necessary for the Syrian army to have control over all borders of the country, stressing that the national sovereignty of Syria must be respected.
The President added that he is confident that the future will benefit the people of the country, adding that the patience and resistance of the Syrian people will make the future of this country and region ‘prosperous’.
The Americans should leave Syria, Raisi said, stressing that the US withdrawal from east of the Euphrates and the entire region is the fundamental solution to the crises in West Asia.
Raisi further stressed the need for the Syrian army to control all the borders of Syria, noting that the national sovereignty of Syria must be respected because ignoring these matters will jeopardize the region, he underlined.

For his part, the Syrian Foreign Minister submitted a comprehensive report on the recent political and security situation of his country, pointing out Syria's serious determination to solve the country's problems and noting that his government has adopted various political and diplomatic initiatives to achieve its goals.
Mekdad grabbed the opportunity to voice his thanks for holding the Astana Summit in Tehran and expressed his satisfaction with the achievements of this meeting.
