Syrian FM Faisal al-Miqdad arrives in Iran
A Syrian delegation headed by Faisal al-Miqdad arrived in Tehran on Sunday to discuss strengthening strategic relations.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh confirmed the arrival of a Syrian delegation headed by Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal al-Miqdad to Tehran on Sunday.
The delegation includes Deputy Syrian Foreign Minister Bashar al-Jaafari. They are scheduled to meet with top Iranian officials, including Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.
This is al-Miqdad's second visit to Iran since assuming his position. The discussions include strengthening strategic relations between the two nations.
In November, al-Miqdad phoned Amir-Abdollahian and they discussed economic and touristic cooperation, in addition to developments in the region alongside regional and international issues, after which Amir-Abdollahian invited the Syrian FM to Iran to continue to follow up on their discussions.
Days ago, Syria welcomed a delegation headed by the Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade, Reza Fatemi Amin, who met with Syrian officials and opened the second exhibition of Iranian products and services in Syria.
