Syria's air defense intercepts drones over Homs after academy attack
Sounds of explosions can be heard over the skies of Homs which comes only a day after a terrorist attack on the city's military academy left over 100 dead.
A security source told Sputnik on Friday that several drones have been intercepted by the Syrian air defense systems over the city of Homs.
"The sounds of explosions that were heard in Homs occurred due to air defense repelling attacks by several drones in the sky above the city," the source stated.
This follows the same day that Al Mayadeen's correspondent to Syria reported that the funeral processions of the Homs military academy martyrs have commenced at the military hospital in Homs.
The funeral procession of the 28 martyrs was also reportedly attended by the Syrian Minister of Defense Ali Abbas.

In the most recent assessment, the Syrian Ministry of Health reported that the death tally of the terrorist attack has increased to 89 martyrs, which include 31 women and five children.
The Syrian Arab Army decried the "cowardly... unprecedented" attack and underlined that they would "respond fiercely to all terrorist organizations wherever they are," pledging to hold the perpetrators and the masterminds behind the attack accountable.
