According to the news agency SPUTNIK, the Taliban organization has arrested the former Afghan President's religious affairs advisor, just days after issuing a broad amnesty for previous officials.
The Taliban detained Muhammad Sardar Zadran on Monday, the previous head of Afghanistan’s Nationwide Religious Scholars Council.
According to a security source, the Taliban arrested Zadran without explanation.
The movement had previously issued an amnesty for all previous officials, in order for people to return to their regular life without fear, assuring that they would be responsible for the city's security and stability.
After the Taliban gained control of the Afghan capital on August 15, President Ashraf Ghani resigned and fled Kabul for the United Arab Emirates.
