The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (Rojava) stated that the latest talks between its delegation and the Syrian government mark a crucial step forward in the course of paving the way for meaningful inter-Syrian dialogue, while reaffirming its dedication to Syria’s territorial unity and urging all parties to set aside divisions and prioritize national unity.
It characterized the latest talks between its delegation and the Syrian government, which included US and French representatives, as a "highly significant step" in advancing a genuine inter-Syrian dialogue.
In its statement, the administration described the Syrian factions sitting at one table to address pivotal issues with sincerity and transparency as an important political milestone, emphasizing that restoring trust among Syrian stakeholders "is now a national imperative" attainable solely through "meaningful dialogue".
No threat to unity
The Autonomous Administration affirmed that Syria's national and religious diversity is not a threat to its unity, but rather a source of strength that must be safeguarded, adding that partnership among the country's components is fundamental to building a new Syrian state.
It further stressed that Syria's territorial unity is "non-negotiable," urging all sides to act with national responsibility by abandoning hateful rhetoric and violence, essential steps toward achieving an inclusive political resolution.
The new Syrian government and the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria had agreed last June to form specialized subcommittees to follow up on implementing the March 10th agreement, which calls for a nationwide ceasefire, the integration of the SDF into state institutions, and full implementation of the deal by year's end.
