Tammy Bruce appointed State Department spokesperson by Trump
After leaving Fox News on Friday, Tammy Bruce is set to succeed Matthew Miller in the position of State Department spokesperson.
US President-elect Donald Trump has selected Tammy Bruce, a former Fox News contributor and political commentator, to serve as the next spokesperson for the State Department. The announcement was made on Trump's Truth Social platform on Saturday.
"It is my great honor to announce that Tammy Bruce will be joining our incredible nominee for US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, as spokesperson for the US Department of State," Trump said.
Bruce, who left her role at Fox News on Friday, will succeed Matthew Miller in the position. Trump praised her as "a highly respected political analyst" who identified the significance of his "Make America Great Again" movement early on.
"She… saw the lies and fraud of the radical left, and quickly became one of the strongest Conservative voices on radio and television. As one of the longest serving news contributors, Tammy has brought truth to the American people for over two decades," Trump stated. He added that Bruce "will bring that same strength of conviction and fearless spirit" to her new role.

From Media to Advocacy
Bruce, aged 62, became a Fox News contributor in 2005 and later hosted Get Tammy Bruce on Fox Nation starting in 2019. According to her biography on the network, she previously identified as a Democrat but shifted her affiliation in 2008, dedicating her efforts to challenging what she labels as "left-wing" agendas. A self-proclaimed feminist, Bruce once led the Los Angeles chapter of the National Organization for Women.
It is worth noting that this organization has faced significant criticism over the years for its lack of inclusivity and excessive focus on middle-class feminism.
In addition to her media career, Bruce has authored several books, including The New American Revolution and Fear Itself: Exposing the Left's Mind-Killing Agenda. Her latest work criticizes the government for using fear to expand control over citizens' lives.
We know all too well, fear is used by the bureaucratic state as a tool to frighten us into compliance and retreat. In my new book I write about this vital issue and give you the tools with which to not just resist, but to defeat it! https://t.co/ZCCb1NWEzh pic.twitter.com/vPGBpbKfsk

Trump will assume the presidency on January 20, following his victory over Kamala Harris in November's election. While many of Trump's nominees require Senate confirmation, Bruce's role as State Department spokesperson does not.
