Tear gas in fresh anti-Macron protest in Paris
Anti-Macron protesters returned to the streets of Paris shortly following his re-election.
French security forces fired tear gas in Paris on Saturday as opponents of re-elected French President Emmanuel Macron rallied in the capital.
Footage on Twitter showed police trying to disperse a crowd of mostly young men and women who had gathered in the central Paris district of Châtelet to protest Macron's victory over far-right leader Marine Le Pen in the presidential elections.

French President Emmanuel Macron has won the 2022 French presidential elections, renewing his term after being elected as President in 2017.
The French President won by 58%, while his opponent, Marine Le Pen, received a 42% of the voter turnout.
Although there was a relatively low voter turnout, the elections this year exhibited high competitiveness, with Macron projecting popularity among French citizens despite his neoliberal policies.
