Iran says the points in the Chinese peace proposal are enough to start negotiations to end the military activities between Russia and Ukraine.

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Sunday that Tehran supports China's proposal to solve the crisis in Ukraine.

Tehran stated that it "believes that the points contained in the Chinese proposal are sufficient to start negotiations to end military activities."

This comes as a response to the proposal announced by Beijing after a tour by its Central Foreign Affairs Office Director Wang Yi in Europe, Russia, and other countries, with the aim of helping find a peaceful solution to the conflict between Russia and the West in Ukraine.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry affirmed that Tehran expresses its respect for the Russian and Ukrainian peoples and affirms its neutral position. The ministry renewed its condemnation of the United States and a number of Western countries' unilateralism that dates back to the Cold War era.

In addition, the ministry renewed its offer to participate in a peaceful solution to the crisis in Ukraine.

Last Wednesday, the Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the US response to the Chinese proposal, saying that ideas for establishing peace in Ukraine were shattered due to the US desire to continue hostilities until disintegrating Russia and then focusing on containing China. The comment came in a statement following talks between the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Wang Yi in Moscow.

Amir-Abdollahian heads to Geneva, denies claims about Iranian drones

In a separate context, the Iranian Foreign Ministry announced that Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian will go to Geneva to participate in the 52nd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council. He will also participate in a conference on disarmament and will meet with a number of officials and international delegations during this visit.

For his part, the Iranian Foreign Minister commented on Sunday about the claims alleging the use of Iranian drones in Ukraine, describing them as "false."

Amir-Abdollahian said on his Twitter account that "the allegations about the use of Iranian drones in Ukraine are false," adding, that the second meeting of the political and military delegations of Iran and Ukraine was scheduled to take place, but some Western parties only spread allegations and do not provide any proof.

"The West must stop this absurd and fruitless game," Amir-Abdollahian stressed, confirming that Iran "supports peace and opposes war anywhere."
