Iran has formally urged the United Nations to launch an immediate and comprehensive investigation into the Israeli occupation’s use of mercenaries in its ongoing acts of aggression against Iran, according to a report by IRNA.
Tehran submits evidence of foreign-backed assassinations on Iranian soil
In a letter submitted to the UN Working Group on the Use of Mercenaries, the Iranian mission in Geneva presented documents and evidence detailing the role of foreign mercenary networks in orchestrated attacks targeting Iran’s territory and personnel.
The letter outlines how foreign-backed operatives, linked to various governments, have been involved in systematic assassinations of Iranian scientists and senior military officials, as well as coordinated bombings and armed drone attacks deep within Iranian territory.
IRNA stated that the material submitted points to a coordinated campaign involving mercenaries, with the aim of destabilizing Iran through acts of cross-border aggression that violate international law.
During "Israel's" war on Iran, Iranian intelligence arrested 700 individuals accused of working with the Mossad.
Iran urges UN accountability in response to cross-border aggression
The Iranian delegation called on the UN Working Group to carry out its responsibilities with full transparency and urgency, urging it to take decisive and just measures in response to what Tehran considers a grave international violation.
The appeal reflects Iran’s broader demand for international accountability in the face of what it describes as illegal warfare tactics employed by the Israeli occupation, including the outsourcing of violence through third-party military actors.
