Tehran says "good" agreement reached with IAEA
Iran announces reaching an agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency to tackle issues related to its nuclear program.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein AmirAbdollahian announced on Wednesday that Iran reached a "good" agreement with the Internatioal Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
The Foreign Minister detailed that the agreement addresses some of the "alleged" concerns regarding Iran's peaceful nuclear program and helps to strengthen cooperation with the Agency.
He added that Iran is "optimistic" about making progress in the current round of talks if the other side acts "realistically".
AmirAbdollahian denied including any demands unrelated to the nuclear agreement in the Iranian proposals, noting that the ongoing negotiations are based on two drafts and that the opposing sides agreed to put the drafts on the table for discussion in order to reach a final and comprehensive agreement.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry announced earlier today that talks between Mohammad Eslamia, the chief of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), and the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency of the UN made progress on a number of issues and narrowed the gaps on others.
During the 7th round of the Vienna nuclear negotiations, the Iranian delegation to Vienna had five demands, the most pressing of which is the lifting of JCPOA-related sanctions.
