Tehran: War Games to Strengthen Deterrence Strategies
Iran stresses its respect for neighboring countries and the parliament commented on the recent military exercises on the country's border.
Iran has announced that its ground force's war games in the northwest of the country are aimed at readiness and capabilities.
Ali Karim Firouzjaei, a member of the Iranian Parliament, stated that the ground force maneuvers in the northwest of the country are aimed at strengthening deterrence in the face of potential danger.
He added that history has demonstrated Iran's behavior has been respectful and friendly towards neighboring countries, confirming that there is evidence the Azeri officials were deceived by the Zionists.
The MP described the country's borders as the borders of "peace and friendship", adding that Iran cannot tolerate any undermining of security and chaos near its borders, stressing that military drills within a country are a right guaranteed legally and internationally.
The "Fatehan-e Kheybar" war games kicked off in Iran on Friday, under the supervision of the Commander of the Iranian Army's Ground Force, Brigadier General Kioumars Heydari, the General Staff of the Armed Forces, and provincial officials from the country's northwest, near Azerbaijan border.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein AmirAbdollahian said on Thursday, welcoming Azerbaijan's new envoy to Tehran, that Iran "does not tolerate the presence and activities of the Zionist regime against its national security and will do whatever necessary in this regard.
