Tel Aviv stabbing leaves four wounded
A Moroccan man carried out a stabbing in Tel Aviv, injuring four Israeli settlers, two of whom are in critical condition.
Four Israeli settlers were injured in a stabbing incident in Tel Aviv on Tuesday evening, with two reportedly in serious condition, according to Israeli media. The executor of the stabbing was fatally shot at the scene.
Reports indicate that the injured were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. The Times of Israel identified the executor as Abdelaziz Qadi, a 29-year-old American tourist of Moroccan origin, who had entered Israeli territory on January 18 with a tourist visa. Qadi reportedly held permanent residency in the United States.
Israeli security officials are continuing to verify the executor's identity. Video footage from the scene shows heightened Israeli security activity in response to the incident.
Uptick in stabbings
This comes mere days after one Israeli settler was killed and three others were wounded in a stabbing operation in Tel Aviv.
Israeli media had previously reported three injuries resulting from the stabbing operation. The person who carried out the operation, Salah Yahye, reportedly was a Palestinian youth from the West Bank town of Tulkarm. He was martyred after being shot by the Israeli occupation forces.
Israeli media also reported a shooting incident in Levontin street in Tel Aviv after the stabbing attack.
The Ichilov Medical Center in Tel Aviv, on the other hand, confirmed receiving a wounded settler in critical condition.
This comes as the Israeli occupation heightens its aggression on the occupied West Bank and in the wake of the war on Gaza.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Israeli occupation forces announced the start of a new military campaign in the West Bank city of Jenin, which it dubbed the "Iron Wall".
Israeli media reported that the campaign was executed by order of the political echelon, following a Cabinet meeting last Friday, which added the West Bank to the goals of the ongoing war.
Israeli Security Minister Israel Katz said the military operation in Jenin was "prepared to protect settlers and settlement outposts in the area," while an Israeli security source told Israeli media that "the operation in Jenin will be unprecedented in its size and scope."
