Terrorist involved in Aleppo offensive reassures Israelis: Kan
The Israeli KAN Public Broadcasting Corporation notes that "Israel" continues to monitor the ongoing battles between the Syrian Army and the militant groups.
Over the past couple of days, Israeli media have shown major interest in the offensive launched by the terrorist Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) group and other opposition factions within Syria.
Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held Saturday in-depth consultations with his government regarding developments in Syria.
On Sunday, "Israel's" KAN Public Broadcasting Corporation aired an interview with what it described as "a Syrian rebel involved in the attack on Aleppo."
The channel quoted Suhail Hammoud as saying, "You should fear Bashar al-Assad, Iran, and Hezbollah (not us)."
KAN stated that Hammoud, among other remarks, aimed to reassure the Israeli public with a message.
In response to a question about his message to Israelis, Hammoud said, "My message is that you shouldn't worry about us when it comes to Iran and Hezbollah. We are dealing with them... My friend, you should fear Bashar al-Assad, Iran, and Hezbollah (not us). You know how Iran and Bashar al-Assad operate, with far more intensity than the Islamists."
The channel noted that "Israel" continues to monitor the battles between the Syrian Army and the militant groups, as well as the developments on the ground, emphasizing that it remains committed to preventing Iran from smuggling weapons into the region under the cover of these battles.
The Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham, in coordination with opposition factions supported by Turkey, including the so-called "National Army", launched a wide-scale attack on Aleppo.
They managed to enter the city during the assault, while the Syrian army repositioned itself to protect the city’s neighborhoods from destruction. The army continues to target militant positions in the city, its countryside, and Idlib.
Syrian Foreign Minister Bassam Sabbagh stated that the terrorist attack carried out by large numbers of militants on Aleppo and its countryside serves "the objectives of the Israeli occupation entity and its sponsors."
Sabbagh emphasized that Syria has consistently warned of the clear coordination between the Israeli assaults and the offensives launched by terrorist groups against the country.
