Terrorists execute elderly couple in cold-blood in Idlib countryside
The killings coincide with the spread of checkpoints belonging to the Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham terrorist group at the entrances to the villages of Jabal Al-Summaq.
In a cold-blooded manner, terrorists executed an elderly couple, Turki Bayasi, 65, and his wife Huda Zibar, 61, in the village of Kaftin, in Jabal Al-Summaq, north of Idlib.
Local sources said the bodies of the two innocent victims - shot in the head - were found near their homes on Saturday.
The heinous crime comes two weeks after militants murdered the young man Hikmat Al-Haddad while he was working on his land near the village of Koko, in the Jabal Al-Summaq area.
The killings coincide with the spread of checkpoints belonging to the Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) terrorist group - formerly known as Jabhat Al-Nusra (the Syrian branch of Al-Qaeda) - at the entrances to the villages of Jabal Al-Summaq.
Over the past months, the residents of the Jabal Al-Summaq have been regularly harassed by HTS militants and the Turkistan Islamic Party.
It is noteworthy that the Jabal Al-Summaq area includes about 18 villages, in which about only 20,000 people live, as a large number of its residents migrated to different regions of Syria before militants entered, while hundreds of families remained under the control of the terrorist group Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.
In early August, Maj. Gen. Oleg Yegorov, the deputy head of the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria, revealed that Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and the West-supported "White Helmets" are preparing a provocation and making staged videos in Idlib to accuse Syria and Russia of launching missile strikes on civilians.
It is noteworthy that on July 24, HTS launched two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) equipped with cameras and small-sized missiles that targeted a religious celebration in Hama, killing two people and injuring 15 others.
"A suicide drone armed with a missile fell near a gathering during a religious celebration marking the opening of the Hagia Sophia. This was followed by another UAV falling down in the same location," local sources reported.

In Russia, the Federal Security Service (FSB) reported in early April that 10 individuals were arrested in nine Russian districts for conspiring with members of Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham terrorist organization to set up a vast network to collect funds for militants in Idlib, Syria.
The terrorist organization has also been engaged in excavations, looting, and smuggling of a number of Syrian antiquities and archaeological sites in Idlib Governorate.
