Trump campaign raised over $7 million after mugshot released
The mugshot, displaying a stern-faced Trump in his customary suit and tie, marks an unprecedented moment for a former US president.
Campaigners for former US President and the now-convict on charges of racketeering and conspiracy, Donald Trump, said on Sunday they raised $7.1 million since his mugshot was released earlier this week.
The mugshot was released on August 24 after Trump's 20-minute booking at an Atlanta, Georgia.
The mugshot, displaying a stern-faced Trump in his customary suit and tie, marks an unprecedented moment for a former US president.
"Close to $20m raised in the last 3 weeks, coinciding with the DC indictment and Atlanta mugshot," campaign spokesman Steven Cheung confirmed told AFP on Sunday.
"$7.1m since Thursday (Atlanta mugshot). $4.18m yesterday alone, the highest grossing day of the entire campaign," he added.
"Organic money has skyrocketed, especially after President Trump tweeted out the picture along with the website."

Trump's team quickly released merchandise featuring his mugshot, which is now arguably the most famous mugshot in US history.
However, the local sheriff's badge watermark is apparently removed from the picture.
Some experts have linked the poster to Barack Obama's "Hope" poster which propelled him to his 2008 electoral victory.
Some Democrats have used the picture to show that only the law rules.
On Friday, Biden told reports that he did see the picture and called Trump a "handsome guy."
