Turkey escalates its bombing of al-Hasakah
The Turkish Army deliberately expands the scope of its bombardment this morning, targeting an SDF site in the Mahmakia neighborhood with a drone.
Just two days after the Sochi summit, the Turkish Army extensively shells SDF sites in al-Hasakah Governorate, bombing areas considered relatively safe.
At dawn today, a civilian was killed by Turkish artillery shelling on the village of al-Salamsa, southwest of the town of Tal Tamr in the northern countryside of al-Hasakah.
The Turkish Army deliberately expanded the scope of its bombardment this morning, targeting an SDF site in the Mahmakia neighborhood with a drone.
The same site was also targeted with two artillery shells, killing four people who were digging trenches and injuring others.
The bombing also targeted two other sites in the villages of Kharza and Khanki in the countryside of Amuda, with no information on the size of the losses.
This comes a day after targeting villages in the countryside of Amuda and al-Darbasiyah, in the far northern countryside of al-Hasakah.
It is worth noting that the cities of Qamishli, Amuda, and al-Darbasiyah are among the major cities that have been under SDF control since 2012.
The cities have not witnessed battles since the start of the war on Syria.
In response to the Turkish escalation, the Kurdish "self-administration" organized protests near the Russian base in Qamishli to put pressure on the Russians to stop the Turkish bombing.
