Two IOF soldiers commit suicide in one week: Israeli media
Israeli media say three Israeli occupation soldiers committed suicide this month.
Israeli media reported that an Israeli occupation soldier was found dead at a base in the south of occupied Palestine, highlighting that this is the second suicide case among the ranks of the occupation forces this week.
On Friday, Israeli media revealed that three occupation soldiers committed suicide this month.
Israeli Channel 11 said a female soldier committed suicide on Thursday, another occupation soldier committed suicide for unknown reasons earlier this week, and a soldier had committed suicide earlier this month.
The channel reported that the Israeli occupation Chief of Staff issued instructions to invest more resources and prepare plans to reduce suicide incidents among occupation forces.
It pointed out that the Israeli occupation military usually avoids publishing data related to the number of soldiers who committed suicide while on duty, explaining that Israeli officials consider publicizing such data would encourage more occupation soldiers to commit suicide, which means that most of the real figures for suicide rates remain far from the media.
In 2022, 14 Israeli occupation soldiers committed suicide on duty -- a toll that is the highest in five years, according to the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.
In 2021, 11 occupation soldiers committed suicide. The highest rate of suicides among Israeli soldiers was recorded in 2011, during which 21 soldiers committed suicide.
