UAE violating Sudan's sovereignty, arms to RSF must halt: Sudan FM
Sudan's Foreign Ministry said that the UAE's call is an "assault on Sudan's sovereignty under the pretext of delivering humanitarian aid."
The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called for an immediate halt to the supply of weapons to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
This comes after UAE's Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Tuesday, calling for the "urgent need for humanitarian response to the crisis in Sudan."
The statement added that the UAE condemns the "weaponization of famine in the war" and called for a "ceasefire to facilitate the rapid delivery of humanitarian aid."
Sudan's Foreign Ministry said that the UAE's call is an "assault on Sudan's sovereignty under the pretext of delivering humanitarian aid."
It further called on "halting the supply of weapons to the RSF, which are used to kill civilians and obstruct food production and aid delivery, [which are] essential to achieving peace and alleviating the humanitarian crisis."

The UAE has long-held interests in the region, particularly in Sudan, which is strategically located in both North Africa and the Horn of Africa.
On the military front, the RSF has played a crucial role in regional conflicts, including the conflict in Yemen, where they have fought alongside the UAE and Saudi forces against the Yemeni resistance.
In March, a report by Bloomberg revealed has committed significant financial resources across the region, totaling $44.5 billion last year, making it the top investor in Africa for the second consecutive year.
in May, a SwissAid report found that between 2012 and 2022, a total of 2,596 tons of undeclared gold were smuggled from Africa to the UAE.
