British Foreign Secretary David Lammy stated on Tuesday that no one wants to see a return to prolonged war between "Israel" and the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, warning that the cost of a broader regional war in the Middle East would be "immense".

Admitting that South Lebanon constitutes a "quagmire" for Israeli troops, Lammy told broadcasters, "None of us want to return to the years in which Israel found itself bogged down in a quagmire in southern Lebanon."

"None of us want to see a regional war. The price would be huge for the Middle East, and it would have a significant effect on the global economy."

"We're calling for an immediate ceasefire, we need a diplomatic solution to the problems in Lebanon," David Lammy says

Moreover, he called on all British nationals in Lebanon to leave the country, stressing that the government "cannot guarantee that they will be able to get people out of Lebanon in a speedy fashion" if the airport closes.

He added, “But I have warned and cautioned now for months that we have seen, in previous crises between Israel and Lebanon, the airport close, and we cannot guarantee that we will be able to get people out in speedy fashion."

Lammy's statement came shortly before Iran responded to "Israel's" atrocities and after the occupation has come under Hezbollah's fire amid an attempted ground invasion into Lebanon.

Sirens have sounded all over occupied Palestine as Iranian media announced Tuesday that the Iranian response to Israeli aggression had started.

Dozens of missiles have reportedly hit their designated target, with reports indicating that over 400 missiles and projectiles had been launched from Iran toward the occupied Palestinian territories.

Moreover, the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon - Hezbollah continues to closely monitor and strike the movements of Israeli occupation forces near the Palestinian-Lebanese border while conducting long-range strikes on central city settlements in occupied Palestine.

On Tuesday, Resistance fighters in Lebanon conducted a series of operations in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza and in defense of Lebanon.

The attacks included a wide range of strikes near the Israeli line of withdrawal from South Lebanon, specifically on key areas that Israeli ground forces have taken as a launching pad for attacks on the country.
