Ukraine: Shortage in gas makes it almost impossible to refill cars
Shortage in gasoline supplies makes it almost impossible to refill private cars in Ukraine.
Due to shortages in gasoline supplies in Ukraine, the country's Deputy Finance Minister Alexander Kava said on Sunday that it was close to impossible to refill private vehicles.
People in Ukraine now have to wait in line for hours to refill their vehicles, and diesel fuel is close to impossible to locate in most regions.
"Unfortunately, the majority of Ukrainian citizens are experiencing a difficult situation with gasoline in Ukraine as it is almost impossible to gas up a private vehicle."
Currently, authorities in Ukraine are working on increasing supplies of gasoline from the European Union in exchange for iron ore and grains.
Kiev used to import close to 80% of its gasoline from Russia before the war, according to Ukrainian Economy Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko. The minister pledged in late April that they would eliminate gas shortages as soon as Ukrainian retailers secure contracts with European suppliers.
