Ukrainian forces fire 3 missiles at Kakhovka HPP
The HPP continues to operate normally as confirmed by the head of the Nova Kakhovka administration, as no critical damages have been reported as well.
Ukrainian troops fired 19 Vilkha and HIMARS missiles at the city of Nova Kakhovka, with three missiles hitting the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, according to a representative of the emergency services of the Kherson Region on Monday.
The representative told reporters, "The Kiev regime continues to fire at the civilian infrastructure of Nova Kakhovka, firing at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant with 19 HIMARS and Vilkha missiles, with some of the missiles shot down by air defense. Information about the victims is being specified."
No critical damages reported
No critical damages have been reported after the attack on the Kakhovka HPP, per a statement on Monday to Sputnik released by Vladimir Leontyev, the head of the Nova Kakhovka administration.
"The Kakhovka HPP continues to stand courageously, everything is fine, there are no critical damages," Leontyev commented as he reiterated that the plant continues to operate normally.
Just last week, Sergei Surovikin, the general of the Russian armed forces and the commander of all units in the special military operation zone, said the Kherson Region is highly dangerous for its residents to remain there as Ukrainian forces regularly target civilian infrastructure.
"HIMARS rockets hit the Antonovsky bridge and the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, traffic on which was stopped. As a result, the delivery of food products is difficult in the city, there are certain problems with the water and electricity supply. All this not only significantly complicates the life of citizens, but also creates a direct threat to their lives," Surovikin told reporters.
September witnessed Ukrainian armed forces fire a barrage of missiles at Kherson's city of Nova Kakhovka, which targeted a highly important hydropower plant, the district administration said.
"No visible hits by Ukrainian missiles were reported in the city. The Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant was one of the usual targets," the administration said on social media.
