UN report reveals humanitarian repercussions of war on Gaza
According to the report, the number of martyrs in the Gaza Strip has exceeded 45,000 since the beginning of the war on October 7, 2023, including more than 13,319 children and 7,216 women.
In a report, the United Nations revealed on Thursday the catastrophic repercussions of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip for the 447th day of the war.
According to the report, the number of martyrs in the Gaza Strip has exceeded 45,000 since the beginning of the war on October 7, 2023, including more than 13,319 children, 7,216 women, and more than 107,000 people have been injured.
The report emphasized that "Kamal Adwan Hospital is the last functioning healthcare facility in northern Gaza," noting that only 47% of hospitals and 37% of primary healthcare centers remain operational, as warnings grow about the spread of epidemics, worsening the humanitarian crisis in the region.
It stressed that over 14,000 patients urgently require medical evacuation, while more than one million children are in desperate need of psychological and social support due to escalating trauma.
The report highlighted that over 1.9 million people, or 90% of Gaza's population, have been displaced within the Strip. It added that most of these displaced individuals are living in makeshift camps, with tens of thousands enduring dire humanitarian conditions, exacerbated by extreme cold and severe shortages of water and food.

It added that 92% of housing units in the Gaza Strip have either been destroyed or damaged, while over 80% of the area is under Israeli evacuation orders.
The agricultural sector in Gaza has faced devastating losses, with 95% of livestock killed and irrigation systems and greenhouses destroyed, the report also mentioned.
The United Nations underscored that the situation in Gaza has surpassed acceptable humanitarian thresholds, urging immediate international action to alleviate the population's suffering and ensure unrestricted access to humanitarian aid.
In a related context, the director general of the Ministry of Health in Gaza stated that "37 children have been martyred from malnutrition in the Gaza Strip, while the blockade by the occupation is preventing the entry of vaccines, leading to the spread of epidemics and infectious diseases."
UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini earlier stated that "Israel has used hunger as a weapon, and famine is likely in northern Gaza," emphasizing that "the people of Gaza are being denied essential necessities, including the food required for survival."
