In the weeks since "Israel" resumed its war on Gaza, nearly 400,000 residents have been displaced, as relentless attacks have resulted in large-scale civilian casualties, according to a statement by the United Nations Secretary-General's spokesman on Monday.

"Survivors across Gaza are being displaced repeatedly and forced into an ever-shrinking space where their basic needs just cannot be met," stated United Nations spokesman Stephane Dujarric, adding that "overall, we estimate that nearly 400,000 people have been displaced yet again since the breakdown of the ceasefire."

The heads of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and the World Food Programme issued a joint statement, calling on world leaders to act firmly, urgently, and decisively to ensure the basic principles of international humanitarian law are upheld.

The joint statement highlighted that massive numbers of Gaza residents are "trapped, bombed and starved again, while, at crossing points, food, medicine, fuel and shelter supplies are piling up, and vital equipment is stuck" as "Israel" continues to impose a siege on humanitarian aid from entering the Strip.

"We are witnessing acts of war in Gaza that show an utter disregard for human life," the UN heads added, emphasizing that "assertions that there is now enough food to feed all Palestinians in Gaza are far from the reality on the ground, and commodities are running extremely low."

Gaza death toll nears 51,000

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reported on April 7 that in 24 hours, 57 martyrs and 137 injuries were recorded in Gaza hospitals, while many victims remain trapped under the rubble and on the roads, with rescue teams unable to reach them due to the ongoing aerial bombardments and the destruction of vital infrastructure.

Since March 18, 2025, the toll has risen to 1,391 martyrs and 3,434 injuries, while the total toll from the Israeli aggression since October 7, 2023, now stands at 50,752 martyrs and 115,475 injuries.

According to Al Mayadeen's correspondent, the bombing of a journalists' tent killed journalist Hilmi al-Faqawi and Yousef al-Khazindar, while injuring several other journalists, including Ahmed Mansour, Hassan Islayh, Ahmed al-Agha, Mohammed Fayek, Abdullah al-Attar, Ihab al-Bardini, Mahmoud Awad, and Majed Qudaih.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) sounded the alarm over the deepening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, warning on April 6 that its remaining supplies are nearly exhausted as the enclave continues to face a brutal Israeli siege on humanitarian aid.

UNRWA reported that the blockade, enforced by "Israel" since March 2, has completely prevented the entry of humanitarian and commercial supplies for over a month, representing the longest interruption since the start of the genocidal war, while the breakdown of the ceasefire in late March worsened the situation, leading to the forced displacement of over 142,000 Palestinians between March 18 and 23.
