US ‘accomplice’ in Haniyeh assassination: Tehran
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) vowed on Wednesday that the Resistance Axis will make "Israel" pay a heavy price for its "criminal and cowardly" assassination of Haniyeh.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry has described the US as an "accomplice" to the Israeli assassination of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh, which it described as a "heinous act of terrorism."
Hamas confirmed the martyrdom of the Hamas leader, noting that the head of the political bureau was killed in a "treacherous Zionist airstrike on his residence in Tehran."
In an official statement issued on Wednesday, the ministry underscored the involvement of the US government, which supports "Israel's" occupation and extermination of Palestinians, in the martyrdom of Haniyeh.
Assassinating Haniyeh "serves as a testament to the terrorist nature of the Israeli regime and highlights the aggressive and lawless behavior of the criminal mafia ruling over the occupied Palestinian territories," according to a release by the ministry.
The ministry further stated that the targeted strike against the Hamas commander on Iranian land was a clear breach of international law and posed a major danger to regional and global peace and security.
While strongly denouncing the killing, the ministry stated that the Islamic Republic has the inherent right to respond effectively to such transgressions of its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Islamic Republic urges countries and international organizations to hold "Israel" responsible for its acts and to support the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and legitimate resistance to occupation, the statement ended.
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) vowed on Wednesday that the Resistance Axis will make "Israel" pay a heavy price for its "criminal and cowardly" assassination of Hamas' Politburo chief martyr Ismail Haniyeh.
"The heinous crime committed by the Zionist regime in killing Ismail Haniyeh... will undoubtedly be met with a harsh and painful response from the powerful Resistance Front," the IRGC said in a statement.
Iranian leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei stressed that retribution for Haniyeh's blood is "Iran's duty because he was martyred on our soil," adding that the Israeli entity "brought upon itself the most severe punishment."
Pezeshkian mourned the head of the Political Bureau of Hamas, saying, "Iran mourns its partner in sorrow and joy, the longtime and proud companion on the path of resistance."
As did Haniyeh, Resistance will continue march to liberation: Al-Hayya
Khalil al-Hayya, deputy head of Hamas, affirmed on Wednesday that martyr Ismail Haniyeh was not in a concealed or obscure location at the time of his assassination, emphasizing that this act should not be regarded as an intelligence triumph.
Al-Hayya noted that since the onset of the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation, "Israel" attempted to isolate the Palestinian Resistance. However, they were taken aback to discover Haniyeh traveling between major world capitals. He highlighted that the martyr devoted his life to his faith and homeland, dying under exceptional circumstances, and affirmed that his people and nation will deeply mourn his loss.
The Israeli regime, in response to its failure in its war on Gaza, is attempting to escalate tensions in the region, the senior Hamas official said. He remarked that "Israel's" actions, including targeting Lebanon and Iran, represent a "threat to the entire world." He asserted that the Resistance will ensure that Haniyeh's assassination is not left unpunished.
Al-Hayya revealed that the assassination was executed with a missile that directly struck martyr Haniyeh's residence and noted that they are awaiting the investigation of the Iranian authorities.
The Resistance official further emphasized that the successor to Haniyeh will continue to follow the same path and persist in the resistance. He assured the nation that Hamas and the Resistance are advancing with a clear strategy that remains steadfast, "regardless of the loss of one or even ten leaders."
