At a press briefing on Tuesday, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan confirmed that the US worked closely with the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) to assist with interception efforts of nearly 200 ballistic missiles launched from

Sullivan claimed that Iran's airstrike attack against "Israel" Tuesday appeared to have been "defeated and ineffective," attributing this to "the skilled work of the US military and meticulous joint planning in anticipation of the attack."

The US has "made clear that there will be consequences, severe consequences" for the Iranian missile attack against the Israeli occupation. "We will work with Israel to make sure that is the case."

State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller, on his part, said that, as of now, there is no reported damage to US facilities in "Israel" following the missile strike.

"At this time, we are not aware of any damage to US facilities," Miller stated.

When asked about the legitimacy of targeting Iran's nuclear program, Miller said that the US did not rule anything out, signaling the potential for further actions in response to ongoing threats.

Iran Defends Missile Strikes as Legitimate Self-Defense

In a statement released by Iran's Foreign Ministry, Tehran defended its recent missile strikes on "Israel", describing the operation as a "defensive" measure in accordance with the nation's right to self-defense. The ministry stressed that the strikes were specifically aimed at military and security facilities in the occupied territories.

Furthermore, Iran called upon the United Nations Security Council to take "meaningful action" to prevent ongoing threats to regional peace and security, underscoring the need for international intervention to maintain stability.

Iran strikes

Earlier today, the IRGC launched "Operation True Promise 2" in response to Israeli aggression, following a similar April operation.

This new operation targeted three military bases in Tel Aviv: Nevatim, Hatzerim, and Tel Nof Airbase, which house advanced Israeli fighter jets.

The IRGC released a statement following the launch of the response, saying "We have targeted the heart of the occupied territories in response to the assassination of martyrs Haniyeh, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and Nilforoushan."

The statement further said, warning "Israel", "If the Zionist regime retaliates to the Iranian operation, it will face violent consequences."

Numerous missiles have reportedly made an impact, with reports indicating that over 400 missiles and projectiles had been launched from Iran toward the occupied Palestinian territories.

According to the IRGC, at least 90% of the ballistic missiles launched hit their targets, including gas platforms near Askalan.

The Iraqi Resistance warned the US and "Israel" against using Iraqi airspace for strikes, threatening US bases in Iraq.

Media reports, including from The New York Times and The Washington Post, suggested that ballistic missiles were used in the attack, which caused widespread sirens and explosions across "Israel", with chaos in the streets and settlers heading to bomb shelters.

Iran reportedly used its Fattah hypersonic missile, capable of bypassing Israeli defense systems.
