The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry called the US the "biggest loser" in the Israeli war in the Gaza Strip.
Speaking to reporters on Sunday at a media event, Nasser Kanaani emphasized how the US had allowed the Israeli regime to continue its crimes in Gaza by giving it unrestricted military and political support.
"The Zionist regime, with all its military capabilities and political influence, lost on the battlefield against the Palestinian nation, and the biggest loser in this battle against the people of Gaza, in addition to this usurping regime, is the US government," he said.
He urged the world to hold the US administration responsible for providing unwavering backing to a dictatorship that has killed almost 40,000 innocent Palestinians in the last eight months.
Kanaani praised the regional Resistance groups for their unwavering devotion to the Palestinian cause and stated that it is a "global responsibility" to support the oppressed Palestinian people.
Iran's Acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani declared that the country's Operation True Promise demonstrated the ineffectiveness of the Israeli occupation's deterrence capabilities and its weakness.
Bagheri Kani made these remarks on Saturday during an interview with CNN Türk, conducted on the sidelines of the Developing Eight (D-8) Organization for Economic Cooperation ministerial meeting in Istanbul, Turkey.
Bagheri Kani referred to the April 13 drone and missile attacks launched by Iran against Israeli military positions, which were in retaliation for the Israeli occupation's strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus two weeks prior.
"Operation True Promise showed that the Zionist regime's deterrence is fake," he asserted. "The Zionists' aggression against the Iranian Embassy in Damascus made Iran strongly and vigilantly use its power components to protect the security and stability of the region."
He further stated, "The Zionists now know very well that when the stability and security of the region are threatened and they try to destabilize the region, Iran will powerfully and vigilantly use its might to contain them."
Addressing the ongoing war on Gaza, Bagheri Kani urged all governments to work towards ending the war, emphasizing the significant responsibility of Islamic nations.
He called on countries maintaining relations with the Israeli occupation to sever their political and economic ties and to boycott the regime as part of efforts to support the people of Gaza.
On the topic of relations with Turkey, the Iranian diplomat highlighted the longstanding and stable partnership between the two countries.
He noted that Tehran and Ankara enjoy high-level political and economic cooperation and expressed a mutual desire to further strengthen their ties across all fields.
On April 13, Iran launched Operation True Promise in retaliation to the Israeli aggression that targeted the Iranian consulate in the Syrian capital Damascus on April 1 and killed seven IRGC advisors.
In a statement, the IRGC said that the operation targeting "Israel," dubbed "True Promise," came following the "silence and neglect" of international organizations regarding the attack on the consulate and the assassination of its senior members. The statement pointed out that the United Nations Security Council also failed to condemn the Israeli aggression or punish the entity in accordance with Article 7 of the UN Charter.
