US has yet to be dealt a ‘final blow’: IRGC chief
The Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), Major General Hossein Salami, reiterates the US and other enemies’ failed attempts to foment insecurity in Iran.
The Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), Major General Hossein Salami, affirmed, on Friday, that Washington has yet to receive a "final blow" from Iran after recurrent failures in the West Asia region.
Addressing a ceremony in memory of IRGC martyrs in the city of Golpayegan, in Isfahan Province, Salami assured that "US-backed enemies sought to cripple Iran" with draconian sanctions but failed due to the Iranian people's great persistence.
He also touched on the riots, infringement on sanctities and the Holy Quran, and attacks on public property, which took place following the death of 22-year-old young Iranian woman Mahsa Amini, stressing the US and other enemies’ failed attempts to foment insecurity in Iran.
The top Iranian official stated that "what the enemies had planned for us has now happened for them. For example, today the Zionist regime is grappling with many problems and setbacks," in reference to the Israeli internal divisions and ongoing violent protests.
Commenting on the victory of Operation Avenging the Free, he said, "These days, barrage of fire (missiles) is raining down on the heads of the Israelis from Gaza. But the Zionists are unable to do anything and they have become helpless and America has also left the region."

He considered that the US has received the first blow against its calculations although Washington assassinated General Qassem Soleimani, stressing that they currently received the second blow, in reference to US troops' gradual withdrawal from the region.
"The final blow has yet to come to them [Americans]," the IRGC chief added.
Salami also highlighted that European governments face unprecedented crises and challenges.
