US intervention drives us to regain Iraq sovereignty: Kataib Hezbollah
The spokesperson for the Iraqi Kataib Hezbollah says the "malicious" US presence in Iraq motivates the Resistance to "liberate the political decision" in the country.
The spokesperson for the Iraqi Kataib Hezbollah, Mohammad Mohi, stressed that "the malicious American intervention" motivates the Iraqi Resistance to "liberate the political decision" in the country, not only the skies and land of Iraq, from the American occupation.
"The malicious American intervention motivates us to regain full Iraqi sovereignty dominated and seized by the forces of the Axis of Evil," he added.
Earlier on Sunday, Iraq said it had resumed talks with the United States on the future of the so-called Internation Coalition, expressing hope that they would not be disrupted and lead to an outcome soon.
A first round of talks opened on January 27 but was swiftly suspended after a drone attack killed three US troops at a base in Jordan the following day.
"The supreme Iraqi military commission resumed on Sunday its meetings with international coalition forces in Baghdad," General Yehia Rasool, military spokesman for Iraq's prime minister, said in a statement.
"As long as nothing disrupts the serenity of these talks, the meetings will take place on a regular basis in order to achieve the commission's works as soon as possible," he added.
Rasool said the meetings were aimed at setting up a "timeline" for a "progressive pullout" of coalition forces from Iraq, leading to the end of its mission.
It is noteworthy that the United States has 2,500 soldiers in Iraq as part of a US-led military coalition formed in 2014 under the pretext of fighting the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group.
In Sunday's statement, Rasool said discussions were now focusing on evaluating the threat posed by IS. The talks were also centering on "the capabilities of the Iraqi armed forces", he added.
Iraqi Resistance calls for united front against US intervention
A couple of days ago, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq extended what it deemed a final opportunity for occupying forces to exit "sacred lands", emphasizing that similar chances were not granted in the past despite pleas and mediations before their defeat in 2011.
In a statement, the Resistance pointed out that recent events have unveiled a stark reality to the Iraqi people, allies and other parties, adding that the United States was showing no signs of weariness or deceit.
The US understands only the language of weapons, evident in its recent attacks targeting the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) in al-Qaim, Akashat and other locations, the statement stressed.
The Resistance added that the assassination of the prominent leader Abu Baqir al-Saadi in Baghdad further intensified the gravity of US crimes, violating all rules of engagement.
In a call to arms, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq urged its trusted allies to "acknowledge the faction's profound understanding of the cunning nature of the enemy, the battlegrounds they navigate, and the tactics required to humble the adversary."
Elsewhere, the statement called on fighters to join the ranks of the Resistance, preparing themselves for active participation in expelling the occupation during this historical phase for Iraq and the region.
